PowerDeWise Microphone: How to solve an iPad buzzing sound problem

If you are experiencing a buzzing sound when using the microphone with your iPad, relax, take a deep breath, then please note the following points:

Proper adapter required ( only for iPads without a headphone jack e.g. iPad Pro 2)

Please note that only a Type C to 3.5mm Jack Adapter gotten from Apple or the one that comes with PowerDeWise Lavalier Microphone with Type C USB to 3.5mm Jack Adapter package is 100% guaranteed to work properly with an external microphone. This is because not all Type C USB to 3.5mm Jack Adapters are designed to recognize both audio input and audio output devices. If you try the microphone with another device that requires no adapter and the buzz is present, then the Type C USB to 3.5mm Jack Adapter you have is not the problem. So, be sure to mention in your message or response that the buzzing is present with other devices and provide us the name of the devices you tried it with.

An error in the iPad’s operation.

The first factor can be eliminated by restarting your phone or/and restoring factory settings. Restarting your device or restoring the factory settings in overloaded RAM or a slow and tired device could be preventing your iPad from recognizing the microphone. Restarting it or restoring factory settings will reset every function and start everything afresh.

A dirty microphone jack/connector

If the plug of the connected external microphone is dirty it could also produce a buzzing or crackling sound.  So, try using a cotton bud or cotton swab to carefully clean the mic/headphone jack of your device. Wipe the microphone connector with an alcohol swab to have all the dirt and grease away and test.

Bad Connections

Ensure that the microphone properly plugged into the /3.5mm end of a Type C USB to 3.5mm Jack Adapter.  A loose connection between the microphone and the iPad will not work properly.

Electrical Disruption

Sometimes, other electrical devices near the audio system can cause a buzzing sound because the microphone picks up the electrical output. Keep the microphone clear from other electrical devices and move the microphone wire away from other wires to reduce the buzzing noise. Avoid charging your device while using it with the microphone.
