PowerDeWise Microphone: How to solve a DSLR Camera buzzing sound problem

If you are experiencing a buzzing problem on your DSLR Camera, relax, take a deep breath, then please note the following points:
  1. Not using the TRRS to TRS (4 to 3 Pin) Mono Adapter:
You need to use the TRRS to TRS (4 to 3 Pin) Mono Adapter that came with the microphone package. Plug in the microphone directly into the Ext Mic port without the TRRS to TRS (4 to 3 Pin) Adapter may cause a buzz in your recording. This is what the TRRS to TRS (4 to 3 Pin) Mono Adapter looks like PowerDeWise Microphone: How to solve a DSLR Camera buzzing sound problem
  1. Poor connection:
When using TRRS to TRS (4 to 3 Pin) Mono Adapter, please ensure that the microphone jack is properly plugged into the female end of the TRRS to TRS (4 to 3 Pin) Mono Adapter by pushing the jack in all the way till you hear a “click”. If there’s no proper contact between the mic and adapter, the combo will not work properly if at all. This applies to every male end into going into female ends.
  1. A dirty microphone jack/connector
If the plug of the connected external microphone is dirty it could also produce a buzzing or crackling sound.  So, try using a cotton bud or cotton swab to carefully clean the mic/headphone jack of your device. Wipe the microphone connector with an alcohol swab to have all the dirt and grease away and test.
  1. Electrical Disruption
Sometimes, other electrical devices near the audio system can cause a buzzing sound because the microphone picks up the electrical output. Keep the microphone clear from other electrical devices and move the microphone wire away from other wires to reduce the buzzing noise. Avoiding charging your device while using it with the microphone may help with the buzz, this includes using a Battery to Electric AA Converter/Adapter that is usually used as a power backup.
  1. Try with your smartphone:
If you haven’t already done this is to ensure that the microphone itself is working properly, particularly if the steps above fail to solve the buzzing problem. If the steps above help with the problem and if you don’t have access to a smartphone, please skip this step, the step is optional. Better still, If you have access to a smartphone, please try using the microphone with a smartphone (tell us the name of the smartphone in your response), following the steps below: Please note that smartphones have a TRRS headphone jack, so you don’t need to use the TRRS to TRS adapter in this case.
  1. Ensure that the external microphone is properly plugged into the phone’s headphone jack.
  2. Open the voice recording app and press record.
  3. Walk away from your smartphone, let the distance be the full length of the cable of the microphone
  4. Speak into the microphone and tap 3 times.
  5. Walk back to your phone and stop the recording.
  6. Unplug to listen to the recording.
